Moderate Routes

The routes on this page generally range from 25-45 miles and have moderate climbs.

MODERATE #1: WEST COUNTY TRAIL PLUS MARTINELLI
This ride bridges the easy and moderate rides, being slightly under 25 miles, and mostly trail with an add-on of a gorgeous country road, and a short climb. 23.8 miles.

MODERATE #2: SEBASTOPOL TO WINDSOR
Our most popular ride, there are endless variations to get you from Sebastopol to Windsor. This is the usual route, including gorgeous Martinelli Rd, Old River Rd, Westside, etc. 39 miles.

MODERATE #3: SEBASTOPOL TO TOMALES
Heading west, especially on warm days, is our secret for cooling off. This route will take you out to the tiny village of Tomales, on Highway 1. Lots of nice climbs, and beautiful, rural countryside are guaranteed. 40.2 miles.

MODERATE #4: SEBASTOPOL TO GUERNEVILLE/RUSSIAN RIVER
A stunning backroads out-and-back journey, this will take you over some moderately steep climbs to get to the Russian River town of Guerneville. 32 miles

MODERATE #5: HEALDSBURG TO SONOMA DAM
We love riding from Healdsburg or Windsor. There are endless routes to choose from. This one is not too difficult and takes you up to the bridge crossing Lake Sonoma. It has a reasonably easy climb, and fun descent. 32.2 miles

MODERATE #6: WINDSOR TO HEALDSBURG/CHALK HILL
Chalk Hill is a favorite climb for Sonoma County riders. It’s just hard enough to feel like you’re challenged, but not too tough. This ride will take you into the heart of the vineyards. 40 miles.
